70. What is the purpose of Salafism?

Peaceful Salafism is the practice of those who try their best to emulate the life of the Prophet of Islâm. To emulate the life of Muhammed, Salafists need to read the hadith (approximately 5,000 of them) and the Seerah, the biography of the life of Muhammed. From this careful and diligent study comes the behaviours and thoughts and rationale for Muhammed’s actions. These are emulated as far as possible. Salafists usually form communities to encourage one another in their quest to follow Muhammed’s life, teachings and actions. Salafists are passionate to maintain the traditions of Islâm so the message of Islâm will not be lost.
