This is an interesting question. By asking this question the inquirer may imply that God is lost. In actual fact it is mankind who is lost, and in need of a close relationship with God. God has always existed as He is eternal and He has never lost His way. God created mankind for the purpose of having eternal fellowship with us. God also knows where everyone is and sees everything they do. God is omnipresent (present everywhere) and omniscient (all knowing). Jeremiah 23 verses 23-24 states; ‘Am I a God who is near, declares the Lord, ‘And not a God far off? Can a man hide himself in hiding places, So I did not see him?’ declares the Lord. ‘Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?’ declares the Lord.
From question 11 we see that Muslims find Allâh through submission to the laws of Allâh, by praying, practicing regular charity, believing in Allâh’s messengers, honouring and assisting them, and loaning to Allâh a beautiful loan. In addition to this, Muslims also practice fasting once a year for 30 days in Ramadan and on the ‘Night of Qadr’, the night of Allâh’s revelation, when they expect angels to come down, and visit with them or experience a supernatural event or miracle of Allâh’s power. A serious Muslim develops a great reverence for Allâh and loves the time spent worshipping and praying to Allâh. Sadly, some Muslims are afraid of Allâh and worship Allâh out of fear. Fear is not a good motivation for any relationship. Divine love is the perfect motivation to know Allâh and to be a friend of Allâh.
For Christians the way to ‘find God’ is through Jesus Christ. In the Gospel of John chapter 14 v 6 Jesus said: ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes to the Father except through Me.’ In the same gospel chapter 3 verses 2 – 21 Jesus was asked a question by a righteous religious man called Nicodemus: ‘Rabbi we all know that God has sent you to teach us. Your miraculous signs are evidence that God is with you!’ Jesus answered and said to him, ‘I tell you the truth unless you are born again you cannot see the Kingdom of God!’ ‘What do you mean’ exclaimed Nicodemus. ‘How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?’ Jesus replied, ‘I assure you that no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can only produce human life but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.’ Christians believe that Jesus gives them spiritual life when they give their lives to Jesus Christ in repentance, forgiveness and humble submission. Jesus gives the power of the Holy Spirit to cause this supernatural change in a person’s life so they can communicate with God in the Spirit. Jesus is the revelation to mankind of who God is and His Holy Spirit working in the life of a Christian connects them with God and His power and presence. Sadly, some Christians serve God from fear. They have never experienced the deliverance of the Spirit of God from fear. Fear is a snare or trap, and it keeps people in bondage to Satan. The Bible teaches that perfect love casts out fear, and sets the Christian free to love everyone with the unconditional love of Christ. There is no fear in love. Read 1 John 4 verses 13-21, 5 verses 1-12.
