Christians believe that ‘God demonstrated His love for us in that while we were still sinners Jesus came to earth and died for us in our place? There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends’ (John 15:13). John 3 verse 16 states: ‘For God so loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.’
In the Holy Qur’an it states that Allâh is the fore-bearing and merciful One. Surah 55 Al Rahman ‘The Most Gracious/Merciful’ ayat 1- 4: ‘Allâh is the merciful who has taught the Qur’an. He created man and taught him to articulate speech. The sun and the moon pursue there ordered course. The plants and the trees bow down in adoration. He raised the heavens and set the balance of things that you might not transgress. He laid the earth of his creatures, with all its fruits and blossom bearing palm, chaff covered grain and scented herbs. Which of your Lord’s blessings would you deny?’ (N J Dawood). The Qur’an supports the argument that Allâh would only do these things if He loved his creation. Otherwise, why would Allâh have made such an abundant provision. This is evidence that Allâh is a loving God.
