Sin is disobedience to God’s commands and His revealed will. It is the expression of man’s independence rather dependence on God. Sin separates man from God and denies him the intimate communion God intended to enjoy with every person. The root of sin is pride and rebellion. Rebellion is disobedience by the assertion of self-will.
